Standing in the shadows of the Motown Sound, mixed in with influences ranging from James Brown to the MC5 and back again, we bring an urban pop sensibility to a funk groove and have created what can best be described as Sub-Urban Rock-n-Roll. MSL is a rock-soul-funk, everything but the kitchen sink kind of band from Detroit, MI. Originally formed in the mid 1980’s by Marc Platt (The X-Citables, The Trend, Marco and the Jetsetters, 17 Reasons Why) the current version of MSL was re-formed in 2001 with a few personnel changes along the way. All of the current members of My Secret Life (MSL) have been active in successful bands in the Detroit area for the past 20 plus years. A new album is in the works to follow up our 2004 EP release “Dancin’ On The Edge of the Earth”. “Life is Rhythm” is scheduled for release in 2008.
